The movement to end New Jersey’s failed marijuana policies relies on you making your voice heard. Your representatives need to hear from you.

"Hello, my name is [your name] and I live in [your address or neighborhood]. As the legislature is working to finalize the bill to legalize marijuana, I’m calling to urge [title/name of representative] to not only support this effort, but to make sure the final bill is fair and includes racial and social justice.
New Jersey made 32,000 marijuana possession arrests in 2016 alone, and Blacks communities bear the brunt of enforcement. Blacks are three times more likely to be arrested than whites, despite similar usage rates. Legalization must help heal the harm done to low-income communities and communities of color.
Legalizing recreational marijuana is just a start. Legislation must account for the harms people have endured as a result of our unjust prohibition laws.
Legislation must include these critical components:
Fair licensing options for people with prior criminal convictions
Real investment in communities hit hardest by the war on marijuana
Please support legalizing, taxing, and regulating marijuana for adults, and for including these meaningful measures toward justice. Thank you."
